Build Muscle Fast – The Important Stuff

Everybody wants to build muscle fast, but nobody is sure how to do it.  First thing to build muscle fast most guys do is look to magazines or online for workouts to build muscle fast.  Most of these workouts aren’t any good to build muscle fast because they’re not written for natural weight trainees who don’t use steroids.  To build muscle fast, you can’t do crazy workouts that have a lot of exercises for each muscle group.  Instead, if you want to build muscle fast, you have to concentrate on big, compound exercises.

Sample Build Muscle Fast Movements You Should Do Include:

Bench Press, Squats, Overhead Press, Rows, Shrugs, Deadlifts, Chins, and Pullups.

To build muscle fast, you should always try to get stronger.  Stronger muscles that can move more weight will lead to being bigger muscles.  You can build muscle fast and get bigger by just lifting a light weight and doing tons of reps, too, but this isn’t good muscle to build.  These pumping workouts will build very soft muscles that never look dense or hard and will have a very ‘squishy’ appearance.  Instead, build muscle fast by lifting heavy weights.

If you want to build muscle fast, you’ll also have to eat a lot.  You can never gain weight (muscle or fat) unless you take in enough calories.  To gain weight and build muscle fast, you have to take in more calories than you burn up.  You’ll never get any bigger unless you simply eat enough.

How many extra calories you need to build muscle fast will depend on you and your situation.  Things like your metabolism, age, current body composition, and more will all factor into it.  An 18-year old kid who has been skinny his whole life and wants to build muscle fast will be able to (and should) eat differently than a guy in his mid-30s who works a full-time job, has a wife and kids, and is already 15-20 pounds overweight.

Either way, when you build muscle fast, the majority of your extra calories should come from protein.

Don’t think that to build muscle fast you have to go nuts on a bunch of extra carbs or anything like that.  The crazy diets you used to hear about in the 1980s of 400-500 grams of carbs each day and 350-400 grams of protein each day to build muscle fast are just crazy, and will end up putting a massive strain on your digestive system.

You might think to build muscle fast that you’ll need a bunch of supplements like protein or glutamine or creatine or amino acids or the like.  The truth is that to build muscle fast, none of these things are necessary.  There are some things that are a good idea – namely a whey protein powder and creatine.  However, to build muscle fast, none of it is necessary.  You can get as big as you want with just plain food.

The problem when you want to build muscle fast and take a bunch of supplements is that you never know what you’re really taking.  Supplements aren’t regulated by the FDA, so there’s no real guarantee what you’re taking is really what they say it is, or that there’s a large amount of what they say in the bottle.  Take a look at a build muscle fast supplement, and if the nutrition facts say that the main thing that’s supposed to help you in in a ‘proprietary blend’, then that’s usually code for they won’t tell you how much of the main build muscle fast ingredient you want is actually in it.

Another thing to think about when you want to build muscle fast is cardio.  You’ll want to do a little easy aerobic cardio to keep your heart and lungs in shape.  It will also help you and act as active recovery from your hardcore build muscle fast workouts.  Plus, it will be good for circulation and even burn a few extra calories.

However, if your true goal is to build muscle fast, you can’t do too much cardio.  You’ll end up tiring your muscles out and put your body into a catabolic state.  This will defeat the purpose of all your work to build muscle fast.  You can hinder your nervous system and make it so that you almost go into overtraining which will compromise all your build muscle fast efforts.

Higher intensity cardio (like interval training) is very popular today.  This is good if you are trying to build muscle fast because you are an athlete.  However, you will have to dial back your weight training some, as intervals are very hard on the nervous system, and while your build muscle fast workouts might not have your body physically overtraining, your nervous system will.
